Penn Street vs England and Wales Transplant Team

Penn Street CC are delighted to announce the return of England and Wales Transplant Cricket Club to Penn Street, this coming Sunday 18th May at 12pm.

The EWTCC aims to promote the need for organ donation and to demonstrate that there is an active ‘2nd innings’ to enjoy after transplant. Their team primarily comprises individuals who are extremely grateful to have received an organ donation.

This is of course a fixture with a close personal connection to our club. Our former President and now Life Member, Ian Jones, was the recipient of a pre-emptive kidney transplant in 2021. The day promises to be a celebration of the '2nd innings' the visiting players and Ian now enjoy.

After visiting us, EWTCC will compete for ‘The Transplant Ashes’ against an Australian team of organ transplant recipients.

Catch them playing at these venues next month:

  • Mon 9th June - Chipping Campden
  • Weds 11th June - Haxey, Doncaster
  • Fri 13th June - Farnley, Leeds
