Hi Everyone,
Not long now until we once again mark the start of a new season in style with a very special get together at Lords Cricket Ground on Friday 2nd May - the much talked about Lords WOW! Please see attached a flyer for this event.
This is, amazingly, the 22nd occasion we've been fortunate enough to meet for drinks in The Bowlers Bar inside the pavilion at Lords. It’s a real privilege for any cricket fan - with access to the legendary Long Room - and on the first day of a County Championship match - this year between Middlesex and Kent at the start of a Bank Holiday weekend. As always, we're extremely grateful to our Life Member and former President Ian Jones for making this event possible.
For those looking to arrive early and catch some cricket before our evening drinks, you'll have the rare opportunity to access the main pavilion as soon as you arrive - normally restricted to MCC Members only. I'd recommend a walk through the famous Long Room up to the top floor, taking in the famous Lords portraits as you go. Once you arrive at the Roof Terrace Bar, the views of the cricket from the outside decking are as good as you'll see anywhere in the world.
The Bowlers Bar itself is a fantastic location for us all to meet up away from the crowds, as the cricket finishes at 6pm. It opens up onto the famous lower balcony that houses the Lords bell; rung to mark the start of play during all Lords Test matches.
To finish the night off, we take a short walk to The Lords Tavern for dinner at 7.30pm, where many of the Middlesex and Kent players will most likely congregate for post match drinks. An evening not to be missed. Book your spot now while there are still places!
I hope to see you there to welcome in the 2025 season.
All the best.
Matt
Note: Please sign up and pay via Teamo if you are able, otherwise please email teamo.pscc@gmail.com by 9th April to confirm your place. We have to provide Lord’s pavilion with an exact list of names for the pavilion door and our food choices for The Tavern. Beyond this date we cannot guarantee you a pavilion pass for Lord’s.
For those who wish to watch the cricket, you’ll need to purchase a standard ticket yourself in order to access the ground. Once inside, all those who’ve confirmed their attendance will be able to gain access to the pavilion simply by giving your name to the person on the pavilion door.
Looking forward to another great PSCC day at Lord's.
We will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
