Kays 150-9 (G. Henry 3-59) beat Penn Street 291-7 (R. Raven 33) by 2 wickets
A battered side welcomed Dave Boyd, Fletch and Winky to a new pitch against old adversaries Kays on another scorching day in Worcester. Tempers were just about held as we took the field and began reasonably tightly by taking a few early wickets. Indeed it was fairly tight until the half way mark as regular wickets kept the total down but the entrance of Russell Edwards and Jason Beck was to change the match as they set after the bowling like fat men after cake and the short boundaries were peppered with fours and sixes at will resulting in a final total of 291/7 from 41 overs.
It was a stiff ask and although Matt and Winky started well Penn Street were soon behind the rate and once the pair of them fell it became a steep mountain to climb. Penn Street were not to give up without a fight as Fletch and Reece went after the bowling with Dave Boyd anchoring, indeed at one stage it looked as though we could pull off a famous Penn Street victory . Sadly it was not to be as wickets began to tumble and although Sam Clark hit his highest score for the club we folded for 150.
