Penn Street vs Little Missenden

Penn Street 174-9 (J. Mendy 42; Kaye 6-40) beat Little Missenden 59-9 (Connelly 20; G. Michell 3-13) by 115 runs

With Penn Street coming into this fixture with a win on the Saturday, Skipper Jack had a bit of pressure on his shoulders and loosing the toss was not the start he was looking for!

After being put into bat he wanted to get of to a good start and with his opening partner Chris, got off to a good paced. Chris was bowled early on to an absolute jaffer but to the relief to Chris, JJ was quick to call a NO - Ball and Chris quickly got over it with a 4. Chris fell soon after, in came Craig, given the challenge of batting at 3 gave good assistance to Jack, rotating the strike and also scoring some runs with some lovely shots. Jack fell for 42 walking round a straight one. Oli came in with some good intent but fell to a swinging ball and was quick back to the hall. Steve Exton who was in good form the day before struggled to get flowing, falling LBW to the very dangerous Kaye.

Will Battled hard for his 27 facing 50 balls in the process. George cam and went but with Drummond at the other end and with Goody coming to the crease and with 20 mins remaining both ground it out and putting on 20 for the last wicket got PSCC over the 165 target set by Jack.

After a cracking tea made by Steve, Penn Street took to the field and wanted to get of to a good start, and with George and Goody opening the bowling, things quickly happened, George taking a wicket in his 4th ball and bowling 3 maiden overs on the bounce the runs were drying up for Little Missenden. Goody gave great assistance to young George from the other end joining the party taking 2 wickets. The bowling was rotated to keep Little Missenden restricted as much as possible with JJ, Bob and Craig all taking wickets and so with the final wicket remaining and the field in close apart from young George taking the final catch!!

A good weekend by all at PSCC and now is the time to push on and get the season going!!
